Karen Gunderson

 

Karen Gunderson brings to Shared Vision Consultants more than 30 years’ experience in the field of child welfare: 8 years direct service (group home with probation youth, and county child welfare services and state adoptions) and 22 years in various roles in statewide policy and program development of child welfare related programs, with a primary focus on children in foster care.

 

Karen has also worked on implementation of many system change efforts, including:

 

  • 1996 Adoptions Initiative, the California Child and Family Services Review
  • Fostering Connections
  • After 18 (AB 12) program extending foster care over 18
  • Continuum of Care Reform and California Partnership for Permanency (CAPP) project,
  • Federal grant from the focused on addressing system bias and disproportionality and disparity in foster care.

 

Karen recently retired from the California Department of Social Services and joined Shared Vision Consultants in April 2016,  where she applies her expertise in program implementation, policy development, report and data analysis, facilitation, and research.  Karen has a Master of Social Work Degree.
